Temple Abdominal Organ Transplant Program Welcomes Ashokkumar Jain, MD

We are pleased to announce that Ashokkumar Babulal Jain, MD, recently joined Temple University Hospital as Director of the Temple Liver Transplant Program and joined Temple University School of Medicine as Professor of Surgery.

Dr. Jain comes to Temple from the University of Rochestor Medical Center in New York, where he served as Director of the Transplant Fellowship Program and Professor of Surgery in the Transplant Division. Simultaneously, Dr. Jain served as an Adjunct Appointment Associate Profesor of Surgery and Adjunct Appointment Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh.

A respected member of the transplant community, Dr. Jain has more than 25 years of experience in abdominal sold organ transplantation and has worked with prominent transplant surgeons at the largest centers in the UK and the United States.

In addition to being a skilled surgeon, Dr. Jain is an NIH- and industry-funded researcher. He has published approximately 250 articles and presented almost 600 papers nationally and internationally.

His wide body of transplant-related research includes the study of de novo cancers, post-transplantation lymphoproliferative disorders, infections, surgical and non-surgical complications, the kinetic aspects of immunosuppressive agents, and survival rates of transplanted patients with hepatic disease.
